Q. When I first install the software, how do I log on?

The software is shipped with a default System Manager operator defined. When the software is started you must pull down the operator name combo box and select the SysMan operator name. SysMan must also be entered as the password in the password edit control (noting that the password is case sensitive).

Q. How do I preserve database contents when I re-install the software?

To preserve the system database during re-installation, it is necessary to rename (or move) the system database and restore it after installation. The system database, by default, is stored in the 'eurotool' directory under the file name 'DQTS System Database.mdb'.

Q. Why has licence control changed in version 4?

In previous versions the software would be licensed as part of the installation procedure and would operate immediately after installation.

Version 3.00 required an operator to telephone the Help Desk for an access code before being able to use DQTS for the first time. Many operators found this an annoyance and it has been decided to remove this method of licence control and instead issue an Installation Password attached to the CD-ROM case, providing the operator with instant access to the software.
